Job summary

Qualdoc is seeking experienced structural steel fabricators to join a contract-to-hire production team in York, PA. Depending on experience, you’ll work as a Fitter or Welder/Fitter, preparing and assembling steel components from drawings while maintaining fit-up, quality, and safe work practices.

Responsibilities include reviewing blueprints, laying out components, assembling before welding, and performing Flux Core welds. A second shift adds a $3.00/hour differential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of structural steel fabrication experience required.
• Experience as a Structural Steel Fitter, Welder/Fitter, or similar role.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Track torch setup and Flux Core welding proficiency.
• AWS or other welding certification preferred.

Job Type: Full-Time, Contract-to-Hire
Pay: Up to $25.00/hour, depending on experience
2nd Shift Differential: +$3.00/hour

• Structural Steel Fitter – 1st Shift: 1 opening | Up to $25.00/hour
• Structural Steel Fitter – 2nd Shift: 1 opening | Up to $25.00/hour + $3.00/hour shift differential
• Structural Steel Welder/Fitter – 1st Shift: 1 opening | Up to $25.00/hour

Position Overview

Qualifications

• Experience as a Structural Steel Fitter, Welder/Fitter, Structural Welder, or similar role.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and technical drawings.
• Hands-on experience with structural steel layout, fitting, and assembly.
• Knowledge of welding processes, equipment, and materials.
• Ability to set up and use a track torch.
• Ability to perform Flux Core welding and pass a pre-employment welding test.
• AWS or other welding certification preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
