ProTrade is seeking experienced Structural Steel Fitters for a shop-based project in Sophia, NC. The role requires reading blueprints, laying out and fitting heavy structural steel, and performing mockups for FCAW and MIG welding.

Expect a Monday–Friday schedule with overtime potential and a 8–12 week assignment with potential to convert to full-time. Safety, reliability, and teamwork are highly valued on this project.

Formación

• 3+ years of proven experience as a structural steel fitter or welder in a construction or fabrication environment.
• Experience working with heavy structural steel.
• Experience with FCAW welding.
• Ability to read and interpret structural blueprints and drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Safety-first mindset — no exceptions.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Responsabilidades

• Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine fitting and welding requirements.
• Laying out and fitting structural steel components using measuring tools, clamps, and welding equipment.
• Tacking assemblies in place and performing mockups for welders to complete FCAW and MIG welding.
• Fitting and assembling structural steel components to precise specifications.
• Inspecting welded joints and structural assemblies for quality, accuracy, and compliance with safety regulations.
• Maintaining a safe and organized work environment at all times.
