Job summary

Peoplelink Staffing is seeking experienced Structural Steel Fitters in Fulton, MS. Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of structural steel fitting experience required.
• Strong math and measurement skills, including fractions and decimals.
• Experience using fabrication equipment, hand tools, and measuring instruments.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of welding symbols and fabrication processes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret structural and fabrication drawings, blueprints, and shop sketches.
• Lay out, position, align, and fit structural steel components according to specifications.
• Measure, mark, and verify dimensions using tape measures, squares, levels, and other precision tools.
• Use math skills, including fractions and decimals, to accurately measure and fit materials.
• Utilize cutting equipment, grinders, torches, and other fabrication tools to prepare materials.
• Perform tack welding as needed to hold assemblies prior to final welding.
• Ensure proper fit-up of beams, columns, plates, channels, angles, and miscellaneous steel components.
• Inspect fitted assemblies for accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
• Work with welders, supervisors, and quality personnel to meet production schedules.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment following safety policies.
