NV5 is seeking a Structural Project Manager for Building Structures in San Diego, CA, operating on a hybrid schedule. You will oversee multiple projects, manage budgets and schedules, and communicate with clients while traveling for site visits.

The role requires a PE in CA, 7+ years of structural design experience, proficiency in ETABS and RAM software, and experience with seismic evaluation per ASCE 41. Revit experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Civil (Structural Engineering emphasis) required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of California.
• 7+ years of relevant structural engineering design experience (Concrete, Steel, Masonry, Wood).
• Proficiency with industry-standard analysis and design software listed in qualifications.

Responsabilités

• Serve as engineer of record on assigned projects, holding responsible charge for the design and the construction documents.
• Direct, review, and mentor project engineers and engineers-in-training.
• Coordinate design work with other engineering and architectural disciplines.
• Meet client expectations for budget and schedule while delivering a quality product.
• Perform and document quality control reviews of drawings, calculations, and specifications prior to each issue.
• Lead construction administration, including responses to RFIs, submittal review, and site observation.
• Apply the governing building codes and reference standards, and coordinate with plan reviewers and authorities having jurisdiction, including city building departments, DSA, and HCAI.
• Prepare scope, staffing, and fee estimates for proposals, and support business development with new and repeat clients.

Position Summary

Structural Project Manager – Building Structures – San Diego, CA – NV5 (Hybrid)

As our Structural Project Manager, you will oversee multiple projects simultaneously, including budgeting, scheduling, and client management & communication, and attend project sites and client meetings.

This position is based in our San Diego office on a hybrid schedule. Travel is required for project site visits and client meetings, primarily in Southern California, with periodic travel to project sites elsewhere in the western United States.

Required

• Proficiency with industry-standard analysis and design software (ETABS, RISA, RAM Structural System, RAM Elements, RAM Concept, Enercalc, SteelSmart, Simpson CFS Designer, and Excel).
• Project management experience on building projects, including scope, schedule, budget, and direct client communication.
• Revit experience, including modeling and production of construction drawings.
• Experience with seismic evaluation and retrofit of existing buildings per ASCE 41 and the existing building provisions of the California Building Code.

Preferred

• M.S. degree in Structural Engineering.
• Structural Engineer (SE) license in the State of California.
• Experience with state agency review processes such as DSA and HCAI.

The salary range for this position is $125,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
