Job summary

IVI Incorporated is seeking a Structural Project Engineer to design structural systems, support project execution, and maintain client relationships across diverse industrial and construction applications. The role includes designing and analyzing steel structures, preparing calculations and drawings, and collaborating with project teams from concept to installation.

You will perform site visits, attend meetings, assist with estimating, and help drive project milestones and QA/QC initiatives,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural Emphasis.
• 1–3 years of civil/structural engineering experience in an industrial construction environment preferred.
• EIT certification preferred; PE license or pursuit of licensure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze structural steel systems and fabrications, preparing calculations, drawings, specifications, and other technical documentation per codes and standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, designers, fabrication teams, field personnel, and clients to support project execution from concept through installation.
• Conduct site visits, field inspections, and project meetings to verify conditions, resolve engineering challenges, and support construction activities.
• Support project management by assisting with estimating, monitoring progress and profitability, tracking milestones and deliverables, and coordinating fabrication activities.
• Maintain strong client relationships by providing technical expertise, supporting QA/QC initiatives, researching engineering solutions, and identifying opportunities for new and repeat business.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Structural Project Engineer to support project and sales efforts across a variety of industrial and construction applications. This role is responsible for designing structural systems, supporting project execution, and maintaining strong client relationships. The ideal candidate is technically skilled, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is eager to contribute to both engineering and project management functions.

Essential Functions:

• Design and analyze structural steel systems and fabrications, preparing engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and other technical documentation in accordance with applicable codes and industry standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, designers, fabrication teams, field personnel, and clients to support successful project execution from concept through installation.
• Conduct site visits, field inspections, and project meetings to verify conditions, resolve engineering challenges, and support construction and installation activities.
• Support project management efforts by assisting with estimating, monitoring project progress and profitability, tracking milestones and deliverables, and coordinating fabrication activities.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural Emphasis.

Experience Requirements

• 1-3 years of civil/structural engineering experience in an industrial construction environment preferred.
• Union and mechanical contracting experience is a plus.
• EIT certification preferred; PE license or pursuit of licensure is a plus.

Skills

• Working knowledge of Autodesk Software (AutoCAD, Revit, Advance Steel,) and/or Solidworks.
• Knowledge of MS Office applications (Outlook, Work, Excel)
• Use of engineering software such as RISA 3D, RISA Foundation, and RISA Connection, Hilti Engineering Suite or Dewalt Design Assist.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of typical industry building and construction codes.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and project timelines.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse personalities at all levels of the organization, both internally and externally.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of accuracy and accountability.
