Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Structural Project Engineer to join our Renewables team in Westminster, CO. You will design foundations and retaining walls for utility-scale wind, storage, and solar facilities, and assist PMs with drawings and reports.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering, a PE license (S.E. a plus), at least 3 years of related experience, and familiarity with ASCE loading calculations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) required; S.E. registration is a plus.
• Minimum 3 years of related work experience.
• Familiar with ASCE loading calculations.
• Foundation design experience (shallow spread footings, slab-on-grade, deep foundations).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• MS Office (Word, Excel) proficiency required.
• Proficiency with structural engineering software (e.g., RISA) is a plus.
• AutoCAD drafting experience is a plus.
• Geotechnical background is a plus.
• Solar or wind energy experience is a plus.
• Minimal travel possible.

Requirements

Job Duties:

• Responsible for the structural design of foundations and retaining walls for utility scale wind, battery storage and solar facilities.
• Prepares or directs the structural design reports, specifications, and plans.
• Assist Project Managers in the drafting and design of utility scale solar projects.
• Day to day support and input to Project Managers.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering.
• Registered Professional Engineer required, S.E. registration a plus.
• Minimum 3 years of related work experience required.
• Familiar with ASCE loading calculations.
• Background in foundation design, including shallow spread footings, slab-on-grade, and deep foundations.
• Sound verbal communication and technical writing skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.) a must.
