Fortune 100 Food & Beverage Manufacturing in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Structural Packaging & Retail Display Specialist.

This on-site role involves conceptualizing in 3D, developing temporary pre-packed displays, and collaborating with engineers, creatives, and marketers to bring concepts to market. The role emphasizes packaging structure, vendor management, ship testing, and cross-functional collaboration, with a 12-month initial term and up to 20% travel.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of structural corrugated experience (Corrugated material, Secondary packaging).
  • Comfortable with MS Office Suite, Teams, SharePoint, Excel, and web-based tools.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver temporary promotional packaging materials and temporary, pre-packed retail merchandise vehicles that can withstand supply chain handling and assure visual impact.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with co-workers, vendors and factories while leading structural design as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Develop innovative, structurally sound, cost‑effective prepacked merchandise vehicles that convey product features and benefits to shoppers, increasing trial, sales and brand awareness.
  • Manage formal ship testing to ensure product, packaging material, structural integrity and assembly are compatible with the retail supply chain.
  • Provide and propose continuous improvement of existing POP vehicles through material/labor reductions and structural improvement.
  • Support the MDO Merchandising Specialists through all activities from concept through successful manufacturing, co-packing, and deployment.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams such as Brand, Sales, Project Managers, external Structural Designers, Graphic Designers, Internal Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Vendor Partners.
  • This is a hands-on position with strong multi-tasking capabilities and the ability to shift gears easily.

Initial term:12 months (position expected to run longer)

Schedule: Mon-Thur onsite, Fri WFH. Up to 20% travel.

About This Role

Our Structural Packaging & Retail Display Specialist leverage their industrial design backgrounds and ability to conceptualize in 3D and develop innovative temporary pre-packed consumer product displays that force shoppers to stop and engage. These experts have the talents and the expertise of engineers, creative elites, and marketers to turn a concept into an impactful experience for the consumer.

They develop concepts and design specs, provide advice on artwork based on printing methods, generate promotional packaging specifications, test for structural integrity, manage supplier and co-packer relationships and interface with various internal and external groups to take each project to market.

What You'll Do:

Deliver temporary promotional packaging materials and temporary, pre-packed retail merchandise vehicles that can withstand supply chain handling and assure visual impact through product presentation that adheres to each customers guidelines and exceeds the expectations of marketing, factories, purchasing, quality assurance, co-packers, customers, and shoppers.

Develop and maintain strong working relationships with co-workers, vendors and factories while leading structural design as part of a multi disciplinary team.

Develop and provide innovative, structurally sound, cost effective prepacked merchandise vehicles that convey our product’s features and benefits to the shopper, increase trial, sales and brand awareness.

Manage formal ship testing to ensure product, packaging material, structural integrity and assembly are compatible with the retail supply chain.

Provide and propose continuous improvement of existing POP vehicles through material/labor reductions and structural improvement.

Support the MDO Merchandising Specialists (liaisons between Sales & Marketing) through all activities associated with the display development process from concept through successful manufacturing, co-packing, and deployment.

Responsibilities include: ideation, project development, generation of specifications, vendor management, ship testing, traveling to co-packers for start-ups, etc.

Work closely with wide array of cross functional teams such as Brand, Sales, Project Managers, external Structural Designers, Graphic Designers, Internal Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Vendor Partners.

This is a hands-on position, strong multi-tasking capabilities, ability to shift gears easily.

Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.

Willing and available to travel, sometimes on short notice.

What You Bring:
  • 2-3 years of structural corrugated experience (Corrugated material, Secondary packaging).
  • Comfortability with: MS Office Suite, Teams, SharePoint, Excel, savvy with Web-based tools.
