Job summary

Nintendo of America in Redmond, WA is seeking an experienced mechanical/manufacturing engineer to advance product development, testing and packaging.

The role requires 3+ years of engineering experience, familiarity with ISO-9001, and packaging/materials testing; passport is required and visa sponsorship is not available. This position is hybrid with a competitive base pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of related engineering experience.
  • ISO-9001 environment experience preferred.
  • Experience from product specification through to production preferred.
  • Environmental, vibration, compression and impact testing knowledge preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of packaging materials and testing protocols preferred.
  • Electronics testing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support development of documents defining product, product assembly, and packaging of retail finished goods.
  • Review capability of partner quality management system to assess product safety, compliance and quality risks.
  • Provide technical or mechanical support to internal and external teams to ensure products are manufactured and packaged in accordance to specifications.
  • Conduct production part performance evaluations following internal and industrial test standards; propose engineering solutions.
  • Perform root cause analysis in response to nonconformance and design corrective actions.
  • Design, test and implement tools to support production operations.
  • Support management of NOA Corrective Action Request (CAR) initiatives.
  • Provide input for design validation testing to qualify new components and packaging materials.
  • Tailor designs based on fabrication processes, equipment, and materials to balance quality, speed, and cost.

Description Of Duties
  • Supports the development of documents defining product, product assembly, and packaging of retail finished goods.

  • Designs, tests and implements tools to support production operations.
  • Supports management of Nintendo of America Inc. (NOA) Corrective Action Request (CAR) initiatives.
  • Provides input and recommendations for design validation testing to qualify new components and packaging materials.
  • May rely on experience with fabrication processes, equipment, and materials to tailor designs to achieve the most practical balance of quality, speed, and cost.
Summary Of Requirements
  • 3 or more years of related engineering experience.
  • Working experience within an ISO-9001 environment preferred.
  • Working experience with exposure from product specification through to production phase preferred.
  • Operational and theoretical knowledge of environmental, vibration, compression and impact stress testing methodologies preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of packaging materials and associated performance testing protocols (Nintendo Standards, ISTA).
  • Electronics testing experience preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer certification preferred.
  • Valid passport required.

Location & Hybrid

This position is hybrid in Redmond, WA. Hybrid positions require regular onsite work following the schedule and guidelines for their division. This position is not open to fully remote status at this time.

This position includes the base pay range listed below, potential for a semi-annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
