Performs a wide range of facilities services tasks including non-technical maintenance of facilities and equipment, at a level not requiring formal licensure. May be required to perform tasks of other unlicensed trades, such as a light equipment operator, carpenter, mason, and/or roofer. Monitors, maintains, and performs, standard repairs to building facilities. Performs carpentry, masonry, welding maintenance tasks including routine sheetrock/drywall installation and/or repair, window, roof, cabinet and countertop replacement, door, hardware installation, masonry repairs and new installation of ceramic tile, cinder block, plaster, concrete, heavy equipment work as appropriate. Inspects buildings, grounds and equipment to determine need for maintenance and repair and recommends most economical way to make changes and improvements to superior; issues work requests to appropriate authority. Maintains inventory; requisitions materials, supplies and equipment, and maintains control over storage and use; maintains and repairs equipment; confers with supervisor regarding budgeting and long-range planning; prepares all or part of preliminary budget reports.
