StaffBuildersHR is partnering with a steel company seeking Ironworkers in the Tampa, FL and Columbia, SC area. The role involves reading blueprints, connecting columns, beams, and girders, and hoisting steel components into place using cranes.

You will align members for bolting or welding, cut or weld pieces, and operate necessary tools. Applicants should be able to work at heights, lift heavy loads, and be willing to travel as required.

We’re partnering with a well-established steel company in the Tampa, FL and Columbia, SC area that is seeking Ironworkers. This role requires the ability to read and interpret blueprints, connect columns, beams, and girders as well as hoist steel beams, girders, or columns into place using cranes.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Read and follow blueprints to establish the locations, quantities, or sizes of materials required
• Connect columns, beams, and girders, following blueprints and directions from the supervisor
• Aligned steel members in position for permanent bolting or welding into place
• Hoist steel beams, girders, or columns into place, using cranes or signaling hoisting equipment operators to lift and position structural steel members
• Cut or weld steel pieces using torches or welding equipment
• Maintain and operate trade tools and equipment
• Stack, load, and unload steel pieces

Who We’re Looking For

• Must be able to work in high places and have a good sense of balance
• Must be able to lift and carry 50/60+ lbs of equipment and lift 100lbs
• Be willing to travel as required by the employer
• Be reliable and practice good attendance
• High school diploma or its equivalent
• Completion of an apprenticeship or experience in the field
• Ability to pass all the screening before employment
• Physical endurance to complete the necessary tasks
