Job summary

EXP Global Inc. in Chicago is seeking a Structural Intern - Bridges to join the Infrastructure – Transportation practice. You will work under engineers on transportation/structural projects, gaining hands-on experience in design and field tasks.

The role involves CAD drawing support, plan development, basic calculations, specifications, and quantity take-offs. You will collaborate with project teams to meet deadlines and learn in a fast-paced consulting environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited civil engineering program.
• Experience with computer-aided drafting and Microsoft Office products.
• Punctuality and maturity – ability to work with minimal direction.
• Ability to work outdoors for limited field assignments.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with on-site inspections and limited field assignments.
• Utilize CAD programs to assist in the preparation of plan drawings and details.
• Perform rudimentary calculations under the direction of a licensed engineer.
• Assist with preparation of technical specifications and reports.
• Perform material quantity take-offs.
• Organize design calculations.
• Assist project teams in meeting deadlines as needed.

EXP is currently seeking a StructuralIntern for its Chicago office to work within the Infrastructure – Transportation business practice.The selected candidate will work under the direct supervision of junior or senior engineers with a focus ontransportation/structuralrelated planning and design projects.The environment is fast-paced and growth oriented, ideally suited for individuals who like to take charge and are driven to gain experience working in a consulting engineering firm.Candidates can have interest in any number of civil engineering disciplines and work may be assigned as needed without regard for specialized areas of interest.

The hourly range for this role is $21 to $30. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's skill set, experience, certifications, and geographic location. Compensation may vary by location due to differences in the cost of labor.
