Job summary

Khan And Associates Inc is seeking a detail-oriented Structural Inspector to join our Miami, FL team. This role focuses on ensuring safety and integrity of structures across dynamic construction markets, with responsibilities spanning inspections, plan review, and reporting.

The candidate will interpret drawings, coordinate with engineers and project managers, and ensure compliance with local and state codes. A strong eye for detail and travel across Miami-area sites are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in structural inspection or related field.
• Strong knowledge of concrete, steel, masonry, and wood framing.
• Familiarity with Florida Building Code; Miami-Dade regulations preferred.
• ICC Structural Inspector certification.
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, blueprints, and specs.
• Strong written and verbal communication for reports and client interaction.
• Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to Miami-area job sites.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough structural inspections of buildings of all types and sizes per local/state codes.
• Review and interpret structural drawings, blueprints, and engineering plans.
• Document findings and prepare detailed written reports.
• Identify deficiencies, hazards, and code violations; recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and project managers throughout inspections.
• Ensure compliance with ASCE, ACI, AISC standards and Florida Building Code requirements.
• Perform follow-up inspections to verify corrective measures.

Requirements

• Proven experience in structural inspection, civil engineering, or a related field
• Strong knowledge of structural systems including concrete, steel, masonry, and wood framing

• Relevant certifications such as ICC Structural Inspector
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for report writing and client interaction

• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites throughout the Miami area
