Job summary

Austin offers an opportunity for a Pipefitter Helper to assist pipefitters and fabricators in laying out, assembling, installing, and maintaining pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for industrial production.

Duties include cutting, threading, drilling, mounting hangers, and assisting with valves and fittings; a valid driver's license and state ID are preferred; 6+ months industrial experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• 6+ months industrial experience preferred.
• Preferred valid driver’s license and state ID.

Responsibilities

• Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications using saws, torches, and pipe threaders and benders.
• Cuts or drills holes in walls to permit passage of pipes, using pneumatic drill.
• Selects specific type and size of pipe.
• Mounts pipe hangers and brackets to hold pipe.
• Assists Pipefitter to install valves, couplings, and other fittings.
• May disassemble and remove damaged or worn pipe.
• Other duties as assigned.

Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications Required for this Position:

Experience – 6+ months experience in an Industrial setting preferred.
