Licensed Forensic/Structural Engineer or Architect
Full-Time | $115,000-$140,000 depending on experience
Investigate Failures. Solve Complex Problems. Restore the Built Environment.
A growing forensic engineering and architecture consulting firm is seeking a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed professional with approximately 5-10 years of experience who enjoys investigative work, technical problem-solving, and working on complex projects involving existing structures.
Our team specializes in forensic investigations, structural evaluations, construction defect analysis, and repair design for commercial and residential buildings. Every project presents a unique challenge, making this an ideal role for engineers and architects who enjoy variety, critical thinking, and hands-on field work.
What You'll Do
- Perform forensic investigations of structural failures, building damage, and construction defects.
- Conduct field investigations, site inspections, and destructive testing as needed.
- Evaluate existing structures and determine the cause of distress, deterioration, or failure.
- Prepare clear, concise technical reports documenting findings, conclusions, and repair recommendations.
- Analyze architectural and structural drawings, building codes, specifications, and supporting documentation.
- Develop structural repair concepts and rehabilitation solutions.
- Present technical findings to clients and project teams.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and architects.
- Travel to project sites as needed (mileage reimbursed).
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Architecture.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) license required.
- Approximately 5-10 years of relevant experience in forensic engineering, structural engineering, building envelope consulting, restoration, or existing building investigations.
- Strong understanding of structural systems, building materials, and applicable building codes.
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
- Comfortable performing field work, including accessing roofs, crawl spaces, attics, ladders, and other challenging environments.
- Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or other industry-standard software is a plus.
Why You'll Love This Opportunity
- Work on challenging forensic and structural investigation projects - not repetitive production design.
