Job Description: Structural/Civil Engineer

ProNet Group, Inc. is seeking a Structural/Civil Engineer with a P.E. license and a background in design and/or construction to conduct forensic investigations of various building types, including commercial, institutional, high-rise, and residential structures. This is a hybrid position allowing remote work, office work, or a combination of both.

Typical assignments involve determining causes of structural failures, construction defects, water/moisture intrusion, roof damages, structural collapses, foundation issues, and more. Additional projects include storm damage assessments, post-fire damage evaluations, structural integrity evaluations, and providing professional opinions and expert witness testimony.

Responsibilities

• Determine the cause and origin of structural failures and construction defects.
• Conduct field inspections to document onsite conditions.
• Evaluate roof damages for residential and commercial structures.
• Prepare and deliver oral and written reports in a timely manner.
• Potentially serve as an expert witness.
• Balance fieldwork and office duties approximately 50/50.

Qualifications

• BSCE from an accredited school, required.
• 7+ years of professional experience, required.
• P.E. license in the applicable state, required.
• Additional P.E. licenses in other states preferred.
• NCEES certification preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, required.
• Strong understanding of building materials, construction, and codes.
• Ability to travel up to 10%, including occasional overnight stays.
