We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Permanent Structural Forensic Engineer to join our dynamic team in the construction industry. This is an exceptional opportunity to apply your skills and expertise in forensic and structural engineering to a range of challenging projects. You will be responsible for investigating failures and defects within the structural elements of our projects, providing professional advice and designing structural repairs. This role also involves conducting insurance inspections, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and maintaining the highest level of safety and quality in all our construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive forensic investigations to determine the cause and origin of structural failures and defects in various types of structures.
  • Design and implement structural repairs to rectify identified issues.
  • Conduct regular insurance inspections to assess the state of structures and provide necessary recommendations.
  • Collaborate with the project management team to ensure structural designs are implemented correctly and efficiently.
  • Provide technical guidance and supervision to junior engineers and other team members.
  • Prepare detailed reports of findings from forensic investigations, including professional recommendations for remediation.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, and other construction professionals to ensure that all structural aspects of the construction project meet the required standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulations in structural and forensic engineering.
  • Develop and implement innovative strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in structural engineering processes.
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment at all times.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. A Master’s degree or higher will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
  • Proven experience in forensic investigations, structural engineering, and designing structural repairs.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction materials, engineering techniques, and structural analysis software.
  • Familiarity with insurance inspections and the ability to interpret and apply industry standards and regulations.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using CAD software and other engineering design tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
