As a Structural Fitter at CLS, the successful candidate will join our robust team of fitters and welders, contributing to high-quality structural projects and innovative solutions. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints and project plans to understand and execute structural fitting requirements effectively.
  • Measure and mark layout lines on structural components, providing accurate fitting as per specifications.
  • Assemble and fit metal parts and subassemblies to form complete units or subunits using tack welding, bolting, and other methods.
  • Inspect and test assembled structures to ensure specifications and quality standards are met.
  • Operate cutting, bending, and straightening machinery and equipment effectively to shape steel in various forms.
  • Adjust and align fitted sections to form completed structures or component parts according to blueprint specifications.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other structural fitters to ensure project timelines and quality benchmarks are met.
  • Record and report project status and progress to supervisory personnel to ensure efficient workflow and delivery on project milestones.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to safety and health policies.
  • Provide solutions and innovative approaches to enhance structural fitting processes and outcomes.
  • Participate in training and development sessions to stay updated with new fitting techniques and industry standards.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Structural Fitter or similar role, ideally in an industrial or construction setting.
  • Demonstrable skill in interpreting and working from complex blueprints and structural designs.
  • Skilled in various fitting techniques including cutting, welding, and fabricating metals.
  • Strong knowledge and ability to use tools and equipment required for structural fitting, including heavy machinery.
  • Excellent mathematical abilities to perform precise measurements and calculations for fitting accuracy.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certification in engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Commitment to maintaining high safety standards during all stages of project execution.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to dynamic project requirements.
  • Physical stamina and strength to handle heavy materials and stand for long periods.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, ensuring smooth collaboration and coordination with colleagues.
