Job summary

Savard Group is looking for a Structural Fitter in Kenner, LA to read blueprints, lay out and fit together heavy structural steel components. You will fabricate, assemble and install beams, braces and plates on site, using torches, saws and grinders to meet exacting tolerances.

This is a Monday–Thursday shift with long-term potential and a weekly salary of $1,200. Applicants should be able to interpret drawings, lay out parts accurately, and perform precise cutting and marking.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and weld symbols to guide fabrication.
• Read and interpret layout lines and ensure precise alignment of heavy metal parts.
• Fabricate, assemble and install structural steel components according to plans.
• Use torches, saws, shears and grinders to cut, shape and finish metal pieces.

• Fabricate, assemble, and install structural steel products such as beams and plates.
• Shape and cut using torches, saws, and grinders.
• Mark reference lines and dimensions on metal using squares and soapstone.
