Bechtel’s Manufacturing & Technology (M&T) Business Unit is designing and building an API Manufacturing Facility located at Generation Park in Houston, TX. M&T is an exciting and growing business unit that serves customers in the semiconductor, datacenter, life sciences, and electric vehicle markets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in a relevant field.
  • 5–8 years of relevant experience, or 9–12 years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of structural standards, codes, and work sequences for large industrial projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Installation Work Packages (IWPs) and short interval planning.
  • Prepare and review construction drawings, sketches, and field instructions.
  • Coordinate with superintendents to ensure workface planning readiness and execution alignment.
  • Verify quantities installed and support progress tracking systems.
  • Ensure materials, embeds, anchor bolts, and other structural materials are available and aligned with construction needs.
  • Interface with Superintendents, Craft Professionals, and subcontractors to coordinate technical requirements and resolve field issues.
  • Support inspection and test planning, ensuring compliance with quality requirements.
  • Monitor IFC drawings and approved documents are used.
  • Coordinate with survey, engineering, and other disciplines to ensure proper installation and layout.
  • Identify and resolve non-conformance reports (NCRs) and support corrective actions as a liaison with engineering.
  • Promote and support Zero Accident Philosophy and safe execution of all activities.

Project Overview:

Bechtel’s Manufacturing & Technology (M&T) Business Unit is designing and building an Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) Manufacturing Facility located at Generation Park in Houston, TX. M&T is an exciting and growing business unit that serves customers in the semiconductor, datacenter, life sciences, and electric vehicle markets. Job Summary:

Assigned to a Field Engineering organization supporting Structural scopes. Responsible for planning, coordination, and execution support of construction activities within assigned discipline and area. Supports superintendents, Craft Professionals, subcontractors, and other disciplines to ensure work is executed safely, in accordance with design, and quality. Performs general field engineering functions including work planning/work package development, material management, quantity tracking, quality verification, and technical coordination.#LI-ME1

Major Responsibilities:

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Required bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Knowledge of structural steel, steel fabrication, connections, and bolt/tool testing processes to ensure work is buildable and compliant per specifications and drawings.
  • Understands Structural technical standards, codes, and work sequences for large industrial projects.
  • Skills to ensure IFC drawings, quantities, structural components, misc. steel materials, receipt inspections, and access are ready to support IWPs, superintendents, and project schedules.
  • Skilled in quantity, quality, and progress reporting
  • Understands Structural layout and installations, supports progress measurement, resolves NCRs, and prevents rework.
  • Ability to coordinate with engineering, construction, survey, and other disciplines; escalates systemic risks or problems early and clearly.
