Job summary

SC Steel is seeking a motivated Structural Fabricator for a weekend shift (Fri-Sun, 6:00 AM–6:30 PM) at our Upstate South Carolina facility. You will fabricate and assemble steel per detailed drawings, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets are met.

Responsibilities include preparing materials for welding, reading drawings, and creating templates/jigs for accurate assembly. A high school diploma or GED is required, and a shift premium applies.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate a cutting torch, hand grinder, drills, and other hand and power tools.
• Layout structural steel according to drawings with measurements and geometry.
• Prepare materials for fitting and welding, including beveling edges for full penetration welds.

Responsibilities

• Operate cutting torch, grinders, drills and other hand/power tools safely and efficiently.
• Layout structural steel per drawings using points, dimensions and geometry.
• Prepare materials for fitting and welding including beveling.
• Cut, drill, grind and modify materials to match fabrication drawings.
• Ensure welds are accessible and pieces fit properly.
• Create templates and jigs to assemble components safely.
