Job summary

Nucor Buildings Group in El Paso, IL is seeking a 3rd Shift Structural Fabricator Teammate to join our team. You will perform fit-up, tacking, welding and follow weld standards on structural assemblies, ensuring quality and safety.

Focus on reading blueprints, tape measurements, and operating overhead cranes. Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma, AWS and Canadian welding certifications, and the ability to work night shifts on a 2-2-3 schedule.

Teammates in this position have averaged $85,000 annually.

Bonus Type: This position is eligible for weekly and annual bonuses.

All Nucor teammates qualify for profit sharing.

Annual Profit Sharing Bonus Percentage (5 year average) = 20% of eligible earnings

Compensation for this position has been averaging $25-$37/hour on our bonus structure.

Basic Job Functions:

American Buildings - Illinois located in El Paso, IL is seeking qualified applicants for the position of 3rd Shift Structural Fabricator Teammate.

Basic functions of the position include, but not limited to:

• Perform various fit up, tacking, and welding operations on a variety of structural assemblies.
• Weld and follow all weld standards and procedures.
• Add stiffeners, brackets, face plates, etc. using prints for location prior to finish welding.
• Use clamps, jigs, tape, square, arc air gouger, cutting torch and plasma as required using procedures, best practices and good judgment to prevent warping and misalignment of component parts.
• Maintain required records and documentation.
• Inspect, detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to proper leadership.
• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain quality standards.
• Perform other related duties as requested.
• Have a commitment to where help is needed and have a desire to be a valued department, division and Nucor teammate.

Most teammates are on the 2-2-3 continental schedule with 12 hour shifts. This position's hours will be 6:00 pm - 6:00 am 3-4 days a week.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Ability to read tape measure, square, and blueprint readings.
• Ability to work 12 hour shifts, four days in a row

Preferred Qualifications:

• Can read and understand weld symbols
• Previous experience in material handling
• Welding back ground; operational understanding and knowledge of standard welding practices and procedures.
• Trained and confident in overhead crane use.
• Minimum 1 year of fabrication experience in a manufaturing environment
