Job summary

Varstaff Staffing is seeking a Structural Engineer for our client in Vandalia, Ohio. You will design, evaluate, and certify structures for a broad range of aerospace systems, from mission payloads to orbital and space exploration hardware.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical/Aerospace/Civil engineering (or related) and 6+ years of relevant experience. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and proficiency in FEA tools are valued. On‑site opportunity in Vandalia.

Varstaff is currently searching for Structural Engineers for our client in Vandalia, Ohio. (Sierra Nevada)

All levels needed.

Duties

As a Structural Engineer, you will be using your skills and expertise to design, evaluate, and certify our cutting edge products and services. These cover a very wide range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems. You'll examine complex metallic and composite structures and systems.

Must-haves

• Knowledge of Computer Aided Engineering tools
• Ability to work in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
• Static strength analysis experience
• Experience with classical analysis using industry standard hand calculation methods
• Understanding of engineering principles and practices

Preferred

• Liaison Engineering experience
• Aircraft Modification experience
• Experience in Engineering Simulation using Finite Element structural analysis (FEA) tools such as MSC Patran, Nastran, FEMAP, or ANSYS
• Experience performing fatigue and damage tolerance analysis utilizing tools such as NASGRO or AFGROW
• Ability to perform classical analysis using industry standard hand calculation methods
• Knowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing and production processes
• Ability to author substantiation reports
• Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry

Must-haves

• Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering or other related discipline
• 6 or more years of relevant experience
