Job Description

ADTEK Engineers is a leader in cold-formed steel design and we are looking for a project manager to join our team. The Project Manager is responsible for the entire project cycle to include design, development, and project completion; will prepare their engineering analyses for QC review by other project managers or supervisor and QC projects of junior members of their team as necessary. Teamwork and solid client relationships are keys to success as a Project Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Prepare engineering analysis of projects to include: complete design and calculations.
  2. Conduct surveys to gather field data as necessary.
  3. Prepare field reports.
  4. Prepare and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, layouts and other visual aids.
  5. Manage construction document printing process.
  6. Resolve project problems independently with review by others on complex issues.
  7. Review and critique proposed changes to engineering standards, policies, or details.
  8. Review development plans for compliance with adopted engineering standards and good engineering practices.
  9. Coordinate the design with client needs.
  10. QC projects by junior managers of your team.
  11. Study contracts and scope of work for own projects and projects of engineers under your supervision.
  12. Study comments provided by supervisor and incorporate into future projects.
  13. Deliver projects within established time periods.
  14. Respond to comments by supervisor, client or outside reviewing entity.
  15. Handle multiple projects and clients simultaneously.
  16. Manage the daily activities of junior engineering and CAD staff in your workgroup.
  17. Review project progress reports and provide financial assessment of project.
  18. Select appropriate standard details for projects.
  19. Markup standard details for projects.
  20. Create custom details for projects as reviewed.
  21. Layout, and Redline overall drawing sets for complex projects.
  22. Ensure that quality control procedures are maintained within your team.
  23. Review specs for projects on which you are working.
  24. Construction Administration (CA) on complex projects and provide client management during construction.
  25. Suggest and help create new standard details.
  26. Review proposal scope and identify any additional work; discuss with Senior Project Manager.
  27. Assist in estimating fee with Senior Project Manager.
  28. Enforce methods on projects you manage.
  29. Ensure project remains within budget and each phase is completed on-time.
  30. Lead kick-off meetings with assigned staff members.
  31. Manage production staff working on your projects to effectively achieve project goals.
  32. Initiate contact for additional service work on your projects.
  33. Meet or exceed individual billing goals; assist in predicting monthly billings.
  34. Identify additional service requests and initiate proposals for work to be reviewed by supervisor.
  35. Coordinate with other disciplines as needed.
  36. Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Travel may be required to attend meetings, site visits, and inspections. This requires the possession of a valid state driver’s license within 60 days of employment.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Must hold a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field and 4-8 years of structural design experience. Must hold an EIT license. In lieu of an EIT license, 2 years of design experience must specifically be in cold-formed steel. Experience may be gained concurrently.
