Job summary

Walker Consultants offers a Structural Engineering Internship in our Tampa office. You will assist engineers with structural analysis, calculations, design tasks, and field investigations on existing structures to deliver high-quality solutions for clients.

You will gain exposure to restoration, forensic, and design projects, learn industry software, and contribute to real projects impacting communities while developing technical skills and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil/Structural/Architectural engineering.
• Strong foundation in structural analysis and design principles.
• Interest in restoration, forensics, and problem-solving within the built environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Attention to detail and eagerness to learn
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; exposure to AutoCAD, Revit, or other engineering software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist project engineers with structural analysis, calculations, and design tasks.
• Support field investigations, site visits, and condition assessments of existing structures.
• Help prepare drawings, reports, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers on restoration, forensic, and design projects.

In this role, you’ll play a part in shaping the success of our projects by supporting our engineers with structural design, restoration, and forensic work. The contributions you make, from assisting with calculations to supporting field investigations, will help our team deliver innovative, high-quality solutions to our clients.
