Job summary

KPFF Austin office is accepting internship applications for Summer 2027. This role will work closely with other local KPFF engineers and operate from our Austin, Texas office.

Minimum qualifications include a BS in Civil or Architectural Engineering with an emphasis in structures, a 3.0 GPA, and solid understanding of structural fundamentals. Preferred candidates may have a Master's track and prior internship exposure.

Qualifications

• Current student who has completed at least 3 years of BS Degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering with an emphasis in structures.
• Minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA or above in Bachelor's coursework.
• Understanding of structural engineering fundamentals (free body diagrams, P/V/M diagrams, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Work with local KPFF engineers and will work out of the office in Austin, Texas.
• Participate in hands-on training and mentorship with in-house projects.
• Contribute to a variety of structural engineering projects during the Summer 2027 program.

Preferred Qualifications:

• BS Degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering and in-process of obtaining Master's degree in Civil/Structural.
• Previous internship experience in a Structural or Civil Engineering role.
• Candidates with transcripts showing completed coursework in:
  • Structural Statics and Dynamics
  • Steel Design
  • Concrete Design
  • Wood Design
  • Seismic Analysis and Design

The salary range for this position is $25.00 to $33.00 per hour, depending on education and experience.
