Job summary

Olsson in Omaha, NE is seeking a structural engineering student intern to gain hands-on experience on large commercial, healthcare, and educational projects. You will assist in conventional design, prepare calculations, write technical reports, and help produce construction documents in Revit, with potential on-site observation.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil or architectural engineering (structural emphasis), possess strong communication and teamwork

Job Description

Olsson's Facility Engineering and Design team is at the forefront of engineering innovation, providing comprehensive services for large commercial developments, healthcare facilities, laboratories, educational institutions, data centers, and military installations. As a structural engineering student intern, you will perform meaningful, hands-on, real-world work that will transform your classroom experience and help you envision your future career. You'll be part of a team, working for our clients on projects with our experienced engineers. You will assist in all areas of conventional structural design and analytical duties including preparing calculations and writing technical reports. You will assist with construction document production in Revit and may have opportunities to travel to job sites for construction observation.

  • Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in civil or architectural engineering (structural emphasis)

  • Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit preferred

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

  • Strong problem-solving and math skills
