Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Structural Intern to join our San Francisco team. You’ll work under a Senior Structural Engineer on smaller projects and collaborate with architects, interior designers, and other engineers to learn design, detailing, and analysis of steel, concrete, masonry, and timber systems.

The role emphasizes practical, hands-on experience, field observations, and entry-level drafting using Revit and related software, with guidance to help you develop professional skills and contribute

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelors’ or Masters’ degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum of junior level classes complete. Must have completed design courses in steel and concrete.
• Basic understanding of Revit and use as a drafting/design tool.

Responsibilities

• Conducts basic interpretations of drawings, codes, and other materials.
• Performs Revit design for the structural discipline using relevant software.
• Coordinates with architects and other engineering disciplines under a senior engineer.
• Performs field work as directed by a senior engineer.
• Performs basic calculations to analyze building components using standard software.
• Assists with engineering duties on projects of varying complexity.
• Gathers data to support design decisions.
• Performs other duties as assigned by senior staff.
