Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern to join our team in the United States. You will work with a dynamic group on a diverse portfolio of public, federal, and industrial projects, gaining exposure to design, analysis, and field activities.

Responsibilities include CADD design, CAD standards training, web data updates, Excel spreadsheet development, field inspections, and shop drawing reviews as part of a hands-on learning experience while contributing to real projects.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Willing to perform field inspections and design tasks.
• Experience with CAD and Excel is a plus.

Responsibilities

• CADD Design Project; will be trained to learn CDM Smith CAD Standards.
• Web searches and product data updates.
• Excel spreadsheet development (macros, repetitious calcs).
• Structural library cataloging.
• Field inspection work.
• Shop Drawing reviews.
