Steel Dynamics, Inc. New Millennium Structural Engineering Internship is based at the New Millennium Corporate Office in Fort Wayne, IN, for the Summer 2027 term.

Interns work on real projects that influence production, safety, and long-term infrastructure reliability in a manufacturing setting. Interns gain hands-on experience in design and field work, collaborating with engineers, contractors, and operators to solve problems and contribute value from day one.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• GPA of 2.7+ preferred.
• Effective work practices and team orientation.
• Hands-on work in industrial environments.
• Ability to communicate with engineering and operations staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist operations and projects using engineering principles.
• Design structural components from foundations to building systems.
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and operations staff.
• Ensure compliance with building codes and safety standards.
