Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a motivated Structural Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in Woodcliff Lake, NJ. You will gain hands-on experience with bridges and civil structures, mentored by seasoned engineers in a collaborative team.

The role emphasizes applying classroom knowledge to real projects, with exposure to CAD tools and structural analysis software, plus opportunities to participate in professional development activities.

Competenze

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related program.
• Interest in Structural design required.
• Must have reliable transportation to the office.
• Basic understanding of AutoCAD and/or Microstation preferred.
• Experience with structural analysis software (LEAP, MIDAS, ETABS, SAP, LARSA, etc.) is a plus.
• Solid problem-solving skills and ability to work in a high-paced environment.
• Strong computer literacy, MS Office proficiency.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English for job communications.

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a highly motivated Structural Engineering Intern to join our Woodcliff Lake, NJ team for Summer 2027! You’ll gain hands-on experience working on a diverse range of bridges and civil structures — from infrastructure to complex, one-of-a-kind designs that challenge and inspire.

Our Bridges & Structures team is growing, and we’re looking for a forward-thinking intern who’s eager to learn, collaborate, and take on real engineering challenges. Responsibilities

• The selected candidate will work in the Bridges & Structures group of the Company’s Infrastructure Division on various projects including new or rehabilitated highway, rail and pedestrian bridges and culverts, retaining walls and temporary structures for contractors.
• Responsibilities will include the preparation of a variety of engineering analyses and computations, CAD drawings, technical reports and cost estimates under the supervision of senior engineers.
• Collaborate as a member of the Bridges team to realize project deliverables and deadlines.
• Put classroom lessons to work in a practical, real-world situation.
• Occasional field work may be required under the supervision of senior engineers or managers.
• In addition to the work-centered program, we also offer robust internship programming, which includes opportunities to work with other interns, learn about other areas of the business, and develop valuable communication skills and networking connections.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related program.
• Interest in Structural design required.
• Must have reliable transportation to the office.
• Basic understanding of AutoCAD and/or Microstation preferred.

• Possess solid problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to work in a high-paced environment.

Compensation: $24.00 to $31.00 per hour (depending on qualifications)
