Job summary

MKEC is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern to join our Wichita office. You will assist with the design of projects in architectural or industrial/energy sectors, gain real-world experience, and work alongside licensed engineers, project managers, and designers to learn the full design process.

Actively pursuing an ABET‑accredited Structural or Architectural Engineering degree, you should be proficient with Microsoft Office and familiar with AutoCAD or RISA.

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a Structural or Architectural Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
• Exposure to or awareness of industry-specific software (AutoCAD and/or RISA) is preferred.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Gain diverse experience by working on a variety of real-world projects that may include commercial buildings, schools, hospitals, hotels, churches, warehouses, manufacturing facilities, oil and gas refineries, rail loading and unloading terminals, and more.
• Learn and use industry-specific design software.
• Work directly with licensed engineers, project managers, and designers.
• Learn the full design process from start to finish.
• Assist the project team in meeting client expectations and schedules.

We’re looking for a Structural Engineering Intern to join our team at our Wichita location (in office). As an intern, you will help with the design of various projects in either of our service areas of Architectural Engineering or Industrial/Energy.

Requirements:

• Actively pursuing a Structural or Architectural Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program.
