Job summary

At MKEC, we’re seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Architectural Engineering team in Wichita (in office). You’ll design a variety of projects—schools, churches, hospitals, hotels, offices and more—and contribute to drawings, models, and reports.

Requires a B.S. in Civil/Structural or Architectural Engineering (ABET-accredited) and 3–6 years of experience. A Kansas PE license is preferred or on track to obtain, with proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and structural analysis tools.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Civil/Structural or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 3-6 years of relevant experience.
  • PE license in Kansas preferred or on track to obtain.
  • Familiar with structural drafting software such as AutoCAD or Revit.
  • Proficient in structural analysis software (RISA, STAAD, Enercalc).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Highly organized, self-motivated with strong communication and time management.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and confidential information.

We’re looking for a Structural Engineer to join our Architectural Engineering team at our Wichita location (in office). This individual will assist with the design of a variety of projects that may include schools, churches, hospitals, hotels, office buildings, and other commercial and industrial projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the design and production of detailed design drawings, electronic models, specifications, written reports, and site observation reports.
  • Complete structural calculations with different design materials, specifically with steel and concrete.
  • Assist in the selection of the appropriate building materials.
  • Prepare and assist with project proposals, interviews, and client presentations.
  • Attend client meetings to ensure the design meets their needs and objectives.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to production staff.
Requirements:
  • B.S. in Civil/Structural or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 3-6 years of relevant experience.
  • PE license in Kansas is preferred (or on track to obtain a PE license).
