Job summary

AG&E Associates is seeking a motivated Structural Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to gain hands-on experience in structural design and project delivery. The role supports project teams across diverse sectors including data centers, aviation, and manufacturing, with mentorship from experienced engineers.

The internship offers hands-on experience on real projects, exposure to drafting in Revit/AutoCAD, and opportunities for future full-time employment upon graduation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil/Architectural Engineering with a structures focus.
• GPA 3.3 or higher.
• Familiarity with Revit or AutoCAD.
• Current transcript available.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers with structural engineering tasks.
• Support analysis of project data and basic structural calculations.
• Prepare sketches and drawings using Revit or AutoCAD.
• Assist with engineering reports, documentation, and research.
• Support quantity takeoffs and cost estimates.
• Assist construction administration activities (RFIs and submittals).
• Participate in field work and site visits under supervision.
• Collaborate with project teams on tasks.
• Prepare materials for presentations and client meetings.
• Develop design templates and internal tools.
• Review work for accuracy and completeness.

This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience while working closely with project teams and experienced engineers to support structural design and project delivery across a variety of project types.

What You Will Do

• Assist engineers with a variety of structural engineering tasks
• Support analysis of project data and perform basic structural calculations

What You Bring

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Civil Engineering/Architectural Engineering with an emphasis on structures
• Minimum 3.3 GPA or above in coursework
• Basic knowledge of structural engineering principles
• Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, or similar modeling software
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
• A current unofficial or official academic transcript
