Job summary

LJB Inc. in Dayton, OH is offering a Spring/Summer 2027 Structural Engineering Co-op for enrolled students. You'll work with experienced engineers on structural design, analysis, and documentation, with exposure to office and field activities including site visits and construction processes.

You'll contribute to technical calculations, reports, and CAD/BIM drawings under supervision, while gaining hands-on experience on real-world projects and growing within a team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering program at an accredited university.
• Must be entering junior or senior year of undergraduate studies at the time of the co-op.
• Prior academic or internship experience with structural design projects preferred.
• Must be able to travel to various project sites.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Ability to sit for extended periods at a computer and lift up to 15 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist with structural design, analysis, and documentation tasks.
• Perform routine assignments under close supervision following established standards and drawings.
• Gain exposure to office-based and field-based work, including design planning, site visits, and construction processes.
• Support project teams with technical calculations, reports, and documentation.
• Contribute to CAD and/or BIM drawings under the guidance of senior engineers.
