Job summary

LJB Inc. in Houston, TX offers Spring or Summer 2027 Structural Engineering Co-op and Intern positions. You will work with experienced engineers on real-world structural design challenges, gaining exposure to office and site work while developing CAD/BIM skills.

Ideal candidates are pursuing Civil/Structural/Architectural Engineering and are ready to travel to project sites, with prior internship exposure preferred and a strong foundation in structural concepts.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering program at an accredited university.
  • Must be entering junior or senior year of undergraduate studies at the time of the co-op.
  • Prior academic or internship experience with structural design projects preferred.
  • Must be able to travel to various project sites.
  • Physical: ability to sit for extended periods at a computer; capable of lifting up to 15 pounds; able to access job sites and construction areas.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with engineering tasks related to structural design, analysis, and documentation.
  • Perform routine assignments under close supervision, following established standards, procedures, and drawings.
  • Gain exposure to both office-based and field-based work, including design planning, site visits, and construction processes.
  • Support project teams with technical calculations, reports, and documentation.
  • Contribute to CAD and/or BIM drawings and sketches under the guidance of senior engineers.
