Job summary

Software Placement Group (SPG) is seeking a Structural Engineer in Omaha, NE to join an established engineering firm expanding its structural team.

You will perform structural analysis and design for commercial and industrial projects, prepare calculations and construction documents, and collaborate with designers, architects, contractors, and clients from concept through construction in a hybrid full-time role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
• 5+ years structural engineering experience required.
• Proficiency with structural analysis/design software required.
• Familiarity with Revit and AutoCAD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for commercial and industrial projects.
• Design structural steel, concrete, masonry, and foundation systems.
• Prepare calculations, specifications, reports, and construction documents.
• Review drawings and coordinate with structural designers and other disciplines.
• Assist with field investigations, existing-condition assessments, and site visits.
• Provide technical support during construction.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes and standards.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and project teams.

Overview

An established engineering firm in Omaha is expanding its structural team and seeking a Structural Engineer to contribute to technically challenging industrial and medium-to-large commercial projects. This role offers the chance to work collaboratively with engineers, designers, architects, contractors, and clients, guiding projects from concept through completion.

What you'll do

• Perform structural analysis and design for commercial and industrial projects
• Design structural steel, concrete, masonry, and foundation systems
• Prepare calculations, specifications, reports, and construction documents
• Review drawings and coordinate with structural designers and other disciplines
• Assist with field investigations, existing-condition assessments, and site visits
• Provide technical support during construction
• Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes and engineering standards
• Collaborate directly with clients, contractors, architects, and project teams
• Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• 5+ years of structural engineering experience
• Proficiency with structural analysis/design software
• Familiarity with Revit and AutoCAD
• Strong understanding of structural design principles and building codes
• PE license required
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with commercial and/or industrial structures preferred
