Wilson Engineers is an Arizona-based firm with a staff of more than 190 personnel specializing in water and wastewater engineering and construction management services. We are dedicated to delivering ethical, reliable, high-quality services to our clients based on innovation, while sustaining a challenging and rewarding work environment for our greatest assets, our employees.

We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to design Water/Wastewater Structures to join our team. This position requires 40 hours per week in our Tempe office. (This job is not remote nor hybrid.)

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform detailed structural design, analysis, engineering calculations, and assist in the development of construction drawings and specifications for Water/Wastewater projects.
  • Conduct structural investigations and assist in the preparation of reports and cost estimates.
  • Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures.
  • Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables.
  • Work independently on small projects or assist senior engineers on larger projects.
  • Give direction to clerical and technical personnel as needed.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering with Structural emphasis.
  • Master's degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering with Structural emphasis, but not required.
  • Possess at least 4 years of structural engineering design work experience.
  • Experience with construction-related engineering services with the ability to review Shop Drawings, RFIs, etc.
  • Must possess EIT certification; PE license, but not required.
  • Microsoft Office, Mathcad, TEDDS or similar analytical software experience.
  • SAP2000, STAAD or similar Finite Element software analysis experience.
  • AutoCAD, Revit or similar detailing and drawing production experience.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with the work involving studies, detailed design, and engineering services during construction for a wide variety of projects.
  • Possess analytical and organizational skills to support multiple projects at a time.
  • Ability to learn, listen, adapt, and take ownership of work.
  • Attention to detail, self-directed learning, and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to coordinate work with other disciplines and production staff.
  • Willingness to try new things and be forward-thinking, with a creative and innovative approach to engineering.
