The Opportunity
Structural Engineer (Water & Industrial Structures)
Location: Phoenix, Arizona
Compensation: $110,000-$160,000 Base (DOE) + Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits
Key Responsibilities
- Manage structural engineering scope, schedule, and budget for project delivery
- Prepare structural calculations, plans, specifications, and construction documents
- Perform quality reviews of structural designs and coordinate resolutions
- Develop engineering fee estimates and project schedules
- Conduct site assessments and evaluations of existing structures
- Coordinate with civil, mechanical, electrical, and process engineering teams
- Support construction activities through field observations and technical guidance
- Develop opinions of probable construction costs
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to design staff
- Assist CAD technicians and designers with structural detailing and drawing development
- Contribute to the development and improvement of structural standards and specifications
- Travel to project sites as required
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis
- 6-12 years of structural engineering experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Strong understanding of structural design for concrete, steel, and masonry structures
- Knowledge of applicable building codes and industry standards
- Experience producing construction drawings and specifications
- Proven project delivery and project management capabilities
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
- Structural Engineer (SE) license
- Experience with water, wastewater, industrial, treatment plant, or heavy infrastructure projects
