Job summary

Futures Consulting, LLC in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Structural Engineer with 3+ years of experience to perform design for diverse building types and develop construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit.

You will apply knowledge of IBC, ASCE 7, ACI and related codes, coordinate with architects and engineers, and contribute to project reviews, field observations, and client relations to ensure schedules and quality are met.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Engineering; a master's is preferred.
  • 3+ years of structural design experience on commercial and/or residential projects.
  • PE license preferred or ability to obtain licensure within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Strong knowledge of IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, NDS and related codes.
  • Experience with structural calculations and construction documents.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD; Revit is a plus.
  • Experience with structural analysis software (RISA-3D, RAM, ETABS, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis and design for a variety of building types utilizing steel, concrete, masonry, and wood framing systems.
  • Prepare structural calculations and engineering reports in compliance with applicable building codes and design standards.
  • Develop coordinated structural construction documents using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Design foundations, retaining walls, specialty structures, light pole foundations, sign structures, and other structural elements.
  • Participate in projects involving new construction, tenant improvements, renovations, additions, and existing building modifications.
  • Coordinate structural designs with architects, MEP engineers, civil engineers, and contractors.
  • Review shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and contractor requests for information (RFIs).
  • Conduct site visits, structural observations, and construction administration activities.
  • Assist with structural inspections and evaluations of existing structures.
  • Ensure projects are completed on schedule while maintaining high technical quality and client satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication and technical excellence.
