Job summary

Airswift is seeking a Structural Engineer / Stress Analyst for a 6-month assignment in Hanover, MD, with potential extension. The role involves performing structural analysis using hand calculations and FEA on subsea structures and vehicles, ensuring integrity and load path optimization.

The candidate will develop load cases, size conceptual structures, run static and dynamic analyses with ANSYS/NASTRAN, and document results while collaborating with design teams through project milestones.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• 15+ years in stress analysis with FEA.
• Proficiency in ANSYS/NASTRAN and SolidWorks.
• US citizenship with clearance capability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop load cases and quantify loads for primary and secondary structures.
• Perform initial sizing of conceptual structure.
• Perform static analysis using industry standard methods (Bruhn, Roark, Shigley).
• Perform stress analysis by developing, solving, and post processing large FEA models using ANSYS.
• Possess an understanding of converting complex systems into simplified FEA.
• Participate in design reviews.
• Properly document analysis.
• Additional duties as assigned.
