Job summary

We are seeking a Structural Engineer / Stress Analyst to perform structural analysis on subsea structures and ROV components. The role involves FEA and hand calculations, evaluating static and dynamic loads, and ensuring structural integrity through rigorous analysis and documentation.

The candidate will work with design reviews, develop load cases, and interpret complex systems into FEA models, with experience in ANSYS and SolidWorks highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program (or years of experience in lieu).
• 15+ years of experience in stress analysis.
• Proficient in standard analytical methods (FEA and hand analysis).
• Proficiency in ANSYS, NASTRAN, or similar. ANSYS strongly preferred.
• Basic proficiency in 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

• Develop load cases and quantify loads for primary and secondary structures.
• Perform initial sizing of conceptual structure.
• Perform static analysis using industry standard methods (Bruhn, Roark, Shigley).
• Perform stress analysis by solving large FEA models using ANSYS and post-processing.
• Convert complex systems into simplified FEA models.
• Participate in design reviews and properly document analyses.
• Handle additional duties as assigned.
