Job summary

AtkinsRéalis seeks a Structural Engineer to join its Power & Industrial team in Bothell, WA or Exton, PA, supporting structural design for power generation facilities and retrofits. You will work with a multidisciplinary group to deliver efficient, reliable structures for new builds and upgrades.

The role requires 5+ years of relevant experience, knowledge of IBC/ASCE/ACI/AISC/OSHA, and proficiency with RISA/STAAD. PE/EIT with ability to obtain PE within 18 months is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with emphasis in structural engineering.
• 5+ years of structural engineering experience, including a year supporting power generation facilities.
• Working knowledge of IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC, OSHA.
• Proficiency with FEM-based structural analysis software such as RISA or STAAD.
• Working knowledge of standard structural design software and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Execute structural designs for new power generation facilities and retrofits of existing plants, including concrete and steel structures and foundations.
• Perform design activities per codes, standards, and AtkinsRéalis policies.
• Coordinate design activities to support schedules and participate in site visits, estimating efforts, and meetings.
• Deliver complete, constructible design packages meeting standards and project specs.
• Prepare technical project specifications for materials, fabrication, and installation.
• Support construction phase by responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and site inspections.
• Maintain complete project documentation including design records and as-built drawings.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including Procurement, Drafting, PM and other engineering disciplines.
• Work with clients to define project requirements and deliver solutions aligned with scope, budget, and schedule.
