Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller is seeking a Structural Engineer, PE, to join our Design Group in the United States. You will work on capital projects with teams to deliver high-quality structural solutions for the manufacturing sector.

You will analyze concrete, steel, masonry, and timber structures with seismic emphasis, prepare design documents, and mentor junior engineers. The role requires ABET-accreditedBS in civil engineering and a PE license; Master’s is a plus.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a structural engineer.
• Experience in analysis and design of structures with seismic emphasis.
• Hands-on experience with industry software: ETABS, RISA, RAM, STAAD, SAP, Mathcad, ENERCALC.
• Experience with AutoCAD and REVIT (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of building codes and seismic requirements.
• Must be able to ascend stairs and work at varying heights.
• Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from ABET-accredited institution is required.
• Master's degree in structural engineering is highly preferred.
• Professional Engineer license is required; Structural Engineer license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design and construction documents for new structures and upgrades as part of an integrated multi-disciplinary A/E team.
• Define facility requirements/programs for projects in the advanced technologies industry.
• Oversee work of structural engineers and designers.
• Analyze and design concrete, steel, masonry, and timber structures with seismic focus.
• Produce structural calculations, drawings, reports, and other deliverables with the project team.
• Develop design sketches into working details and drawings per codes.

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited)

Professional Engineer License

Master of Science in Structural Engineering (preferred)

Seismic design experience
