Job summary

Thomas & Hutton has an immediate opening for a motivated Structural Engineer (PE) in Charleston, SC or Savannah, GA. You will design and draft structural systems for diverse projects, coordinating with engineers and landscape architects.

Responsibilities include analysis, document creation, field observations, and client communication to ensure code-compliant solutions. A PE license and 4+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis and US PE licensure.
• 4+ years of structural design experience.
• Experience with finite element modeling software (RISA).
• Proficiency with Revit; AutoCAD experience preferred.
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Ability to travel to other offices.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design of a variety of structures.
• Create construction documents, including drawings and specifications.
• Perform structural condition assessments and write reports.
• Coordinate with other engineers and landscape architects during design.
• Communicate with clients and contractors, providing high levels of service.
• Ensure designs meet code requirements and perform site visits.
