Job description

Webuild Staffing (www.webuildstaffing.com) is seeking a highly qualified Structural Engineer, PE to lead structural building design efforts for a diverse portfolio of commercial, residential, and retail projects throughout the state of Texas.

This role is ideal for an experienced structural engineering professional who excels at managing projects from conceptual design through final construction documentation while collaborating closely with architects, contractors, and internal design teams. The selected engineer will play a key leadership role in delivering technically sound, efficient, and code-compliant structural solutions that meet client expectations for quality, schedule, and budget.

Key Responsibilities

You will direct structural engineering design activities across multiple projects, providing leadership and technical oversight throughout all phases of development. Responsibilities include defining project scopes of work, preparing and managing design budgets, establishing project schedules, and actively participating in hands‑on structural design. You will design and review structural systems utilizing wood, steel, concrete, and masonry, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.

You will work closely with architects, contractors, and project stakeholders to coordinate designs and resolve technical challenges. Additionally, you will mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff, directing their efforts in the preparation of structural components such as foundation plans, roof and floor framing systems, lateral force‑resisting systems, and construction engineering details. Your leadership will ensure the delivery of comprehensive, high‑quality structural engineering packages from concept through construction.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or a closely related field) from an accredited institution and bring a minimum of 7 years of structural engineering and building design experience. Candidates must hold a valid Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license or be an Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) actively progressing toward PE registration within the next six months.

Strong technical expertise in building structural systems, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build collaborative relationships with multidisciplinary teams are essential. Candidates should demonstrate experience leading projects, coordinating with design and construction partners, and supporting the professional development of junior staff.

Why This Opportunity is Compelling

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a growing consulting structural engineering practice and take on a leadership role delivering building infrastructure projects across Texas. You will work alongside a dynamic team of engineering professionals in an environment that values technical excellence, collaboration, and professional growth. The position offers long‑term career advancement, leadership responsibility, and the opportunity to leave a lasting impact on the built environment throughout the state.
