Kolibrien Corp. / TOG Engineering, Inc. seeks a licensed Structural Engineer to serve as Structural Engineer of Record, providing supervision, review, and stamping services for our DSA and OSHPD projects, or projects requiring an SE seal for approval. This contract position offers $1,000 per month for supervision only on up to two projects, with additional compensation of $100 per plan sheet review for projects beyond this limit, and flexible remote work options.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and review project engineers' work, reviewing and stamping structural construction documents to ensure compliance with the 2022 California Building Code and local jurisdictional requirements for up to two projects per month.
  • Provide timely review and sealing of documents, with availability to meet project deadlines, typically within 12 hours, without performing calculations or creating drawings.
  • Occasionally negotiate with plan reviewers at approving jurisdictions to resolve comments and secure approvals for plans and calculations, maintaining project schedules.
  • Offer technical guidance to project engineers as required on structural components, ensuring adherence to industry standards (e.g., ACI, AISC, ASCE 7).
Qualifications:
  • Active California Structural Engineer (S.E.) license required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in structural engineering, with expertise in reviewing and stamping documents as a licensed Structural Engineer.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and structural analysis software for interpreting structural calculations and drawings.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills to collaborate with project engineers and engage with jurisdictional authorities effectively.
  • High availability for rapid document turnaround and occasional direct communication with plan reviewers to expedite approvals.
Compensation:
  • $1,000/month for supervision, review, and stamping of construction documents for up to two projects per month.
  • $100 per stamped plan sheet for any additional projects beyond the two-project monthly limit.
