Job Description
- Perform or witness concrete, masonry, steel bolting, post installed anchors and other activities on New York City construction projects, such as low to mid rise buildings, industrial, commercial, public, academic, and healthcare facilities.
- Prepare and submit reports of inspection activities and other technical documentation.
- File documentation and complete required technical report forms in accordance with the IBC.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Lead or participate in project meetings and conference calls.
- Manage project documentation and status.
- Perform Energy efficiency inspections in NY TR8.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Architecture.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience as a construction or special inspector on progressively complex building/facility projects.
- Proficiency in the use of standard Microsoft Office products and the ability to become competent with latest project related inspection software and reporting systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge and experience with structural design.
- Ability to communicate as a valued team member with colleagues and clients of all levels.
- Ability to provide inspection reports in a timely manner.
- Reliable means of transportation and a valid driver’s license.
- Willingness to obtain additional certifications.
- Work well with a team and individually.
- Familiarity with construction industry codes.
- Applicant must send at least 5 sample construction inspection reports from any of the below categories.
We seek individuals with one or more of the following certifications:
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (AWS-CWI)
- AWS Certified Associate Welding Inspector (AWS-CAWI)
- ACI-1 - Concrete Construction Special Inspector (ACI-CCSI)
- ICC Concrete Special Inspector (ICC-CSI)
- ICC Commercial Mechanical
- ICC Pre-Stressed Concrete Special Inspector
- ICC Spray Applied Fire Proofing Special Inspector
- ICC Soils Special Inspector
- ICC Structural Masonry Special Inspector
- ICC Structural Steel and Bolting Inspector
- ICC Structural Welding Inspector (ICC-SWI)
- Other desirable licenses include:
- NYS Licensed Professional Engineer or Registered Architect.
