Job summary

Millerbernd Manufacturing in Winsted, MN is seeking a Structural Engineer for our Transportation & Infrastructure unit. This hands-on role collaborates with metal fabrication teams to improve processes, safety, quality and efficiency.

You will interpret plans, perform pole design calculations, follow AASHTO standards, and coordinate designs for quotations while supporting sales, manufacturing and quality with technical analysis. A strong civil engineering background is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• Two years of practical structural engineering experience; other combinations may be considered.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications, mechanical drawings, and engineering plans.
• Understanding of structural analysis, static loads, and wind loads.
• Experience in ASD and LRFD design methods.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and methods.
• Ability to identify root causes, make decisions and solve problems.
• Deliver work products under limited supervision with a sense of urgency.
• Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems (Epicor).
• Strong communication and teamwork in a high-performance environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate designs and calculations for quotations and submittals.
• Identify design problems and resolve through analysis with stakeholders.
• Optimize pole designs for manufacturing capabilities.
• Provide manufacturing‑enhancement recommendations related to design opportunities.
• Support drafting, sales, manufacturing, quality, and estimating with technical analysis.
• Stay up to date on AASHTO standards and state DOT requirements.
