Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Structural Engineer to support the project’s design and analysis in Ogden, UT. You will originate calculations, specifications, and material requisitions, and coordinate with other disciplines to ensure constructible designs.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Structural/Civil Engineering, E.I.T. or equivalent, and 2–5 years of relevant experience, with knowledge of GTSTRUDL/STAAD.Pro and AISC/ACI/IBC/ASCE 7 standards.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in Structural/Civil Engineering or international equivalent.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience or 6–9 years of total work experience.
• Registered Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) or equivalent.
• Experience with structural analysis software such as GTSTRUDL or STAAD.Pro.

Responsibilities

• Designs structures using knowledge of structural analysis, including statics, dynamics, and materials engineering.
• Originates structural deliverables, such as steel and concrete calculations, specifications, and material requisitions.
• Prepares specifications and related documents.
• Prepares procurement and subcontract requisition documents and performs technical bid evaluations with award recommendations.
• Provides direct support to other engineering disciplines for structural matters.
• Reviews structural drawings and design details.
• Assists in conceptual studies, designs, reports, or proposals.
• Coordinates work with other engineering disciplines and assists in quantity takeoffs.
