Job summary

Worley Group, Inc. seeks a skilled Structural Engineer to provide engineering services within the structural team. You will deliver projects on time, manage requirements, and liaise with customers to ensure compliance with standards and project scope.

Preferred candidates hold a Civil Engineering degree with willingness to pursue Louisiana PE or NCEES records. Proficiency in STAAD, Foundation3D, Navisworks, and other design tools is expected.

Qualifications

• Able to deliver structural engineering work with quality, accuracy and timeliness.
• A solid grasp of structural engineering fundamentals and related standards.
• Experience in downstream manufacturing or multi-disciplinary projects.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structural engineering services to meet specs, on time and within budget.
• Initiate and manage structural engineering project requirements.
• Participate in meetings, prepare progress reports, and follow checking procedures.
• Support procurement, construction, and commissioning activities with technical input.
• Proactively resolve discrepancies with customer requirements and stay updated on innovations.

Purpose:

You will provide structural engineering services to Worley and its customers, including technical support within the structural engineering team.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver structural engineering services that meet Worley's, its customers', and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget.
• Initiate and manage structural engineering project requirements.
• Perform structural engineering services such as:
  • Participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports, and follow required checking procedures.
  • Ensure the project scope is clear and that changes comply with project change management processes.
  • Aid and advise during procurement, construction, and commissioning activities. For example, write requisitions, conduct technical bid evaluations, and write purchase orders.
• Proactively resolve any discrepancies between Worley and its customer's requirements.
• Keep up to date with the latest developments and technical innovations in structural engineering.
• Communicate effectively with the structural engineering team and project stakeholders, including the customer.
• Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required.

What you will bring

Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:

• Effective technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to Worley and its customers.
• A sound knowledge of the fundamental requirements of the structural engineering, and the basic requirements of other engineering fields.
• A sound knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Competent use of structural engineering specific software like STAAD and Foundation3D.
• Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite, Navisworks, and Point Cloud Manager.
• Technical and practical experience in structural engineering in the same or similar industry (downstream manufacturing) including experience in working on multi-disciplinary projects and teams.
• Ability to obtain and maintain TWIC card and pass background checks.

Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:

• A recognized and relevant Civil Engineering degree.

Preferred:

• Ability to pursue a Louisiana Professional Engineer license is preferred.
• Ability to pursue an NCEES record is preferred.
